Mount
Rushmore is one of the biggest marvels of the modern world.
It is the sculpture of 4 important United States presidents: George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
These sculptures are eternalized in the state of South Dakota. The sculpture
took seven years to finish and had more that 300 workers put their hands
on the structure that stands more than 66 feet. Mount Rushmore was completed
as the United States entered into the WW2.
The
artist behind the unforgettable structure was Gutzon Burglum, who was
born in Idaho. Americans wanted to build the biggest monument in the
world to pay tribute to their past presidents and Gutzon found the right
dimensions to invest his talents into.
